Sure, there is nothing wrong with La Pinta in a cocktail recipe, but I feel its special flavor and appeal would be long lost within additional juices or other pomegranate products. ![]() ![]() What I found so special about La Pinta is the desire to not want to mix it in a cocktail. While this is a “no brainer” to the folks in Jalisco and surrounding areas, what La Pinta is providing is a glimpse into a culture we don’t often get to fully understand without travel. With Jalapeño, the infusion works well because both products are overpowering to ones senses, but Pomegranate? Definitely different to me and many non-native Mexican folk. Pomegranate, however, isn’t a fruit I’d initially think works well with Tequila because of the Tequila’s natural tendency to want to overpower your senses. While I’ve had flavors like “tropical” and “jalapeño,” I found those to be natural pairings both conceptually and taste-wise. La Pinta Pomegranate Infused Tequila provides evidence that tequila doesn’t lose its charm when infused with other flavors. More like a pomegranate “juice cocktail” flavor over that of a traditional pomegranate juice and the tequila comes through clean and clear. While the pomegranate brings the color and a bit of the flavor of pomegranate it doesn’t provide any dry finish as a juice typically does by comparison. ![]() Tasting Notes: Imagine a sweeter flavor of agave and bright fresh tequila with earthy tones and you’re on your way to La Pinta’s profile.
